“Rosie came across as very humble and bubbly in her submission video,” says Jo+Jax co-founder Joey Dowling-Fakhrieh. “She has a great, inviting smile that makes you want to get to know her, and she has a great look. We can’t wait to have her as our next featured model in our spring/summer collection photo shoot!”
Rosie, 13, hails from Miami, FL, where she dances at Stars Dance Studio. She’s been dancing since she was 7, and loves contemporary, but likes to “try to get a little bit of everything.”

“I’ve always loved Jo+Jax, and I really enjoy modeling. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to represent such an amazing brand.”
What do you think helped you win?
“My friends and family were a huge help, and I really want to thank all of them for voting every day. Social media was important, too. I tried to remind my followers to vote as often as possible, and it really paid off. I was really persistent with getting my teammates and friends to vote.”
So how’d it feel to find out you had won?!
“It was so amazing! I honestly couldn’t believe it, and I’m still in shock.”
What’s your advice to dancers who plan to enter next year’s Model Search?
“Just try your best to get as many votes as possible. Ask your friends every day, and don’t be afraid to promote yourself. And good luck!”
Who are your favorite dancers, teachers, or choreographers:
Travis Wall and Matt Luck. “I have so many inspirations in the dance world and at my own studio, but I especially love these two. Their work is so inspiring.”
“I really hope to someday be a choreographer in New York City, and to be able to see my visions come to life.”
What’s your favorite Jo+Jax item?
“Probably the Jumper, because it’s so comfortable and unique. I have two and I wear them everywhere.”
Congratulations to all of this year’s entrants and finalists. We loved all of your submissions and are already looking forward to next year’s contest.
