What did you do each day as a Jo+Jax intern?
Each day varied depending on what needed to be done. Sometimes I would work in the shop, and other times I would work at my desk doing stuff for social media or an upcoming photoshoot. During convention season, I was always getting ready for the next convention and making sure everything was ready to be shipped out.
What was the best part of being a Jo+Jax intern?
Everyone became my family, and coming to work wasn’t just work. We would all joke around all the time, so it made things fun. Also working at our summer photo shoot was a really awesome experience, because I got to see what all went into making it happen.
What important lessons did you learn during your internship?
I learned a lot about planning and teamwork while working at Jo+Jax. A lot of what needed to be done wasn’t done by just one person — everyone needed to coordinate in order to get things done. With the conventions and photo shoots, you had to be organized and plan out what all needed to be done far in advance. You really get to see how a company works, which was something that always interested me, and was one of the coolest things to learn about.
What’s your advice to future Jo+Jax interns?
Go into it with an open mind and be ready to work hard! There was something different happening almost every day or week, so you’ll get to learn and do a variety of things. You might also get a nickname, so be prepared for that.
