Mark your calendars for December 2, people. That’s when La La Land — the highly anticipated musical film starring Hollywood darlings Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling — hits theaters.
The first look at La La Land was just released, and it looks downright dreamy. (Ryan Gosling, you can whistle our way any day.) There’s not a ton of dancing in this first trailer, but you get a glimpse of Gosling and Stone floating through the air (seriously), and a bit of a sassy Stone-led number that we can’t wait to view in its entirety. The best part? It’s all choreographed by Mandy Moore!
What’s it all actually about? According to director Damien Chazelle, the musical is “a contemporary love story…about two dreamers in Los Angeles who are trying to make it,” he tells Vanity Fair. “Their dreams bring them together but also end up pulling them apart. It’s about how you kind of balance life and art and your dream life with reality, which to me is what musicals are all about.”
